Favorite Song of the Week
Thursday, July 29, 2010Honor Society - Where Are You Now
To my favorite teacher
told me never give up
To my fifth grade crush
Who I thought I really loved
To the guys I’ve missed and the girls we’ve kissed
Where are you now
To my ex-best friends
Don’t know how we grew apart
To my favorite band
Sing along in my car
To the face I see in my memory
Where are you now
Chorus:
Where are you now?
Cause I’m thinking of you
You showed me how
How to live like I do
If it wasn’t for you
I would never be who I am
To my first girlfriend
I thought for sure was the one
To my last girlfriend
Sorry that I screwed it up
To the ones I loved
Didn’t show it enough
Where are you now
Repeat Chorus:
I know we’ll never see those days again
And things will never be that way again
But that’s just how it goes
People change but I know
I won’t forget you
To the ones who came
Who we’re there from the start
To the love that left
And took a piece of my heart
To the few who’d swear
They’d never go anywhere
Where are you now?
Repeat Chorus:
If it wasn’t for you
I would never be who I am
If it wasn’t for you
I’d be nothing
Where are you now?

Sa isang mall…
Foreigner: Miss, do you mind translating these writings to English please? (tinuturo ang mga nakasulat sa likod ng box ng bibilhin niyang item. Nakasulat ito sa Tagalog.)
Tindera: (mangiyak-ngiyak dahil di niya alam ang translation) “Ah…the…the..fffrr..ah..”
Narinig ito ni Inday na tumitingin lamang ng mga laptop at naisipang tulungan ang tindera.
Inday: Ahm..excuse me sir, are you from Italy?
Foreigner: Yes I am! How did you know?
Inday: (smile) Oh I can perceive it from your accent. What’s the problem by the way?
Foreigner: I wanna buy this item but I can’t understand the warranty statement written here at the back. It’s written in Filipino.
Inday: Well this is a Filipino Souvenir Shop but allow me to do the translation.

THE SCHOOLMATE’S
===================
Arajaya was sipping her cup of brewed coffee served with hot pandesal by Coffeebean – so Filipino – so indigent – when a group of infamous people started to occupy the nearby infamous café a.k.a Starbucks. They were so noisy that Arajaya’s blood boiled – temperature almost reaching 412 kelvin.
But since Arajaya is a woman of sophistication, she decided to just ignore the crowd and let them live the way they wanted.
Suddenly, she felt a strong chill. She felt a very odd sensation from her nape to her head – the FEELING of being watched. But then again, Arajaya never gave a damn.
When she was about to eat her hot pandesal, she started to hear a familiar voice from her back.
“What a very small world” said the woman in a maid’s uniform.
Arajaya turned around and was surprised by what she saw.
“Well if my hippocampus serves me right, you are Arajaya, my former friend who turned her back from me. Aren’t you?”
“Wow! What a very well rehearsed introduction. Inday – my former friend who framed me up to escape a crime she’d done. Who would forget that sweet demonic voice – your pitch and intonation as well as your liaising?
“Basing from the gesture of your not so well-developed bone structure predominantly – your skull – that gave you a very elongated face and the kind of food that you have right now, you are about to nosh your stomach with an impecunious meal they called ‘Kape’t pandesal’, uh – was that right?” said Inday as if ridiculing her.
“Yes. Would you like a bite?” replied Arajaya.
“Thanks but no thanks. But would you mind if you join me at Starbucks instead of taking your breakfast in this approximately forsaken café with a very ghastly ambience?” said Inday. “I also want you to try my favorite Venti Java Chip Frappuccino along with cold sandwich and some Choux pastries. Don’t worry, my treat!”
Inday offered Arajaya to join her at Starbucks instead of Coffeebean…
Arajaya stared at Inday, sneered at her then opened her MacBook Pro.
“Thank you for the offer but I prefer Coffeebean to Starbucks. I just think that Starbucks is a den of social climbers and bourgeoisies like you.”
“Oh, dear! Don’t you think you’re getting rude, I just want you to experience life. Okay, I’ll – ” Inday was interrupted when she saw Arajaya busy working with her MacBook.
“And what are you trying to do Arajaya?” asked Inday impolitely.
“Hmm… nothing so important. You wouldn’t understand it even if I tell you.”
“Are you trying to undervalue my comprehension by implying that I will not understand the philosophy that you are doing with your MacBook? C’mon, don’t be so supercilious friend!”
“Okay, I am configuring its IEEE 802.15 to perpetuate the distribution of electromagnetic waves from the medium access control and the physical layer to the transport layer. Later, I will also track the process from the session layers in with the packets are sent and processed for the presentation layer to convert the signals into binary form. Example, if I tried to send “Inday go to hell” message, it will me converted to its hexadecimal value which is 496E49617900676F0068656C6C which will later be converted to its binary value of 010010010111 1110010010010 110000101111001 00000000011001110 110111100000 000011010000110011 10110110001100110. Then, the application layer will check the binary value for error detection using parity bit (even). If there are errors, it will fix the message then sends it to the ALU for processing which will be passed to the CU for data transfer. Satisfied?”
Inday remained silent for awhile then ran back to Starbucks when she heard “1 Venti Java Chip Frappuccino for Inday!” to get her order.
“Starbucks bullshit!” said Arajaya to herself.
After eating, she decided to go back to her work and accidentally passed by in front of Starbucks when she heard Inday…
“I was so careless. I thought that the wit I have in me which I found flamboyant in using any language I know of would simply astound them. I was just mortified that it took me a little pinch of effort not to step beyond the waterline, to just impart to the people I formerly know of that I have grown into a better personage – not just a chambermaid whom others look down to. I was so disgraced by the thing I heard awhile ago and my heart beat faster than normal that I suffered from the incapability of speaking. Good thing that barista called my name. I just wish that someday, I would be able to face my worst nightmare that is yet to come – yet to come that will consume me and bury me to death. I just wish that day isn’t coming yet.”
- Inday nag-emote matapos matabla ni Arajaya sa Coffeebean.

BLACKJACK
==========
Pinuntahan ni Inday ang malditang alaga na si Angelina sa kanyang kwarto para sabihang maligo na.
Pagbukas ng pinto ay nakita nyang si Angelina abalang naglalaro sa PC.
Inday: Angelina, can you cease for a while? It’s time for you to take a bath.
Hindi sya pinakinggan ni Angelina na patuloy pa rin sa pag-cocomputer.
Inday: I baked some chocolate cookies for you but you can only have it after you take a bath.
Angelina: Whatever yaya! (ngunit napaisip din sya) Ok wait, I will finish this round muna.
Ilang saglit ay tumayo si Angelina at kumuha na ng twalya at damit.
Inday: What are you up to anyway? (sabay lapit sa computer)
Angelina: Don’t touch that! I’m playing online Blackjack. I won $6 na. I will be back ok?
Angelina: Yaya!!! What are you doing??! (sigaw ni Angelina)
Lumapit sya sa computer at napansing meron na syang $829.
Angelina: Wow yaya! What did you do?
Tuloy pa rin sa paglalaro si Inday habang inexplain ang kanyang ginawa.
Inday: It’s quite simple really iha. I first employed a multilevel Hi-Lo scheme with a side count add-on based on the Zen Count system. But of course, I was utilizing an overall true count methodology to take into account the multiple decks being used. Then I took it up a peg to the Uston Advanced Point Count method and paid particular attention to strategically optimizing my bets using the three-color chip scenario to disguise my wager.

FACT— VILLAR HAS A MINIMUM OF 40 TV SPOTS A DAY AT A COST OF P10 MILLION EVERY DAY THE PAST 5 MONTHS FOR A TOTAL COST OF P1.5 BILLION - AND THAT IS NOT COUNTING HIS EXPENSES ON RADIO, DOLPHY, WILLLIE REVILLAME ETC ETC AND THE ELECTION OFFICIAL CAMPAIGN PERIOD HAS NOT EVEN STARTED - THEY SAY HIS BUDGET IS P20 BILLION AND ALL FOR A JOB THAT PAYS P200 THOUSAND A YEAR!
QUESTION - —-HE SAYS HE IS A GOOD BUSINESSMAN - AND IF HE IS, I WONDER WHERE HE EXPECTS TO GET HIS RETURN ON HIS AT LEAST P20 BILLION INVESTMENT
WHAT KIND OF RETURN WILL VILLAR EXPECT - - —GIVEN THE HIGH RISK OF THIS UNDERTAKING, HE PROBABLY EXPECTS A GOOD RETURN - MAYBE DOUBLE OR TRIPLE HIS MONEY IN SIX YEARS SAY TO P60 BILLION
WHERE CAN HE GET THAT RETURN —- TOTAL ESTIMATED BUDGET OF THE GOVERNMENT OVER THE NEXT 6 years IS P10 TRILLION WITH ABOUT P1 TRILLION DISCRETIONARY - IF VILLAR MAKES C5 AND TAGA ON THE P1TRILLION OF 20% - hmmmm THATS P200 BILLION ON AN INVESTMENT OF P20 BILLION - HMMM VILLAR IS ONE SMART BUSINESSMAN
WHAT’S THE IMPACT ON THE POOR? - P200 BILLION THAT WILL CONSERVATIVELY BE LOST TO CORRUPTION AS A PAYBACK TO VILLAR’s CAMPAIGN EXPENSES CAN PAY FOR 40,000 CLASSROOMS TO SOLVE THE SHORTAGE PLUS, CREATE A MICRO LENDING FUND THAT CAN GENERATE 3.2 million jobs - CORRUPTION IS THE CAUSE OF POVERTY

Joomla
Friday, December 25, 2009What is Joomla?
Joomla is an award-winning content management system (CMS), which enables you to build Web sites and powerful online applications. Many aspects, including its ease-of-use and extensibility, have made Joomla the most popular Web site software available. Best of all, Joomla is an open source solution that is freely available to everyone.
What’s a content management system (CMS)?
A content management system is software that keeps track of every piece of content on your Web site, much like your local public library keeps track of books and stores them. Content can be simple text, photos, music, video, documents, or just about anything you can think of. A major advantage of using a CMS is that it requires almost no technical skill or knowledge to manage. Since the CMS manages all your content, you don’t have to.
1. Go to joomla site (joomla.org) then copy the link location on the download area.
2. Login to ssh (putty) in installing
3. Create a folder then download the link location (wget then the link location)
4. unzip the file (unzip then the zip file)
5. Point the domain name to the folder which your joomla files are located
6. Configure the joomla with the database access the domain name where you install the joomla
7. Turn off the register globals using in php.ini file
this should be the content of the php.ini file (you will create this file) and placed it in installation folder
register_globals = Off
display_errors = Off
8. Continue configuring the joomla. After you input everything (database etc.)
9. Removed the installation folder then access your website. hopefully this instruction will help you in installing the jomla manually.
What are some real world examples of what Joomla! can do?
Joomla is used all over the world to power Web sites of all shapes and sizes. For example:
- Corporate Web sites or portals
- Corporate intranets and extranets
- Online magazines, newspapers, and publications

Chance Or Choice
Tuesday, May 26, 2009
When we meet the right person to love, when we’re at the right place at the right time, that’s chance. When you meet someone you’re attracted to, that’s not a choice. That’s chance.Being caught up in a moment (and there are a lot of couples who get together because of this) is not a choice. That’s also a chance. The difference is what happens afterwards. When will you take that infatuation, that crush, that mind-blowing attraction to the next level? That’s when all sanity goes back, you sit down and contemplate whether you want to make this into a concrete relationship or just a fling. If you decide to love a person, even with his faults, that’s not a chance. That’s choice. When you choose to be with a person, no matter what, that’s choice. Even if you know there are many people out there who are more attractive, smarter, and richer than your mate, and yet, you decide to love your mate just the same, that’s choice. Infatuation, crushes, and attraction come to us by chance. But true love that lasts is truly a choice. A choice that we make. Regarding soulmates, there’s a beautiful movie quote that I believe is so true about this: “Fate brings you together, but it’s still up to you to make it happen. “I believe that soulmates do exist, that there is truly someone made for you. But it’s still up to you to make the choice if you’re going to do something about it or not. We may meet our soulmates by chance, but loving and staying with our soulmate is still a choice we have to make. We came to the world not by finding someone perfect to love, BUT to learn how to love an imperfect person perfectly.
Ultimate Solution for heartbroken
Monday, May 25, 2009Have you, at any point in your life, suffered a broken heart? Those waves of intense grief, emptiness, sadness, anger, confusion, heaviness and low self-esteem? Depending on the kind of person you are and the situation, break-ups can be traumatic enough to affect your emotional and physical health. They may say that no one ever died of a broken heart, but when you’re suffering from one, it sure doesn’t feel that way, at least initially. Most people will tell you that you’ll get over it or you’ll meet someone else, but it seems easier said than done. There are strategies that can lessen the pain.
Here are 20 steps that can help
1.) Be aware of your real intentions -Do you want to move past the break-up. Or do you harbour hopes of getting back with your ex? Define your emotional goal. You can’t move on until you’ve truly accepted that the relationship is over.
2.) Make a clean break -Don’t do the ‘on-again-off-again’ routine. It will only prolong the inevitable. Also, resist the urge to call your ex.How do you know if you are over your ex? That’s the million-dollar question. A good indication is when you no longer want to get back together with the person. Additionally, when the thought of your ex having a relationship with someone else doesn’t affect you. Although you might not necessarily be ‘happy’ for him/her, but if you have gotten over your ex, you won’t care either way.
3.) Don’t get self-destructive - Getting angry (or desperate), trying to hurt yourself or someone else, drinking or taking drugs to become numb and feel better, or locking yourself up in a dark room are not going to do anything to help your situation. These things don’t actually deal with the pain, they only mask it, which only prolongs the sadness.
4.) Share your feelings -It could be with a friend or family member. Talking is a great way to cleanse your soul and ease your tension.
5.) Cry it out -Getting some of those raw emotions out can be a big help, so it’s okay to cry as much as needed, irrespective of whether you are a a guy or a girl.
6.) Give your heart time to heal -It takes time for sadness to go away. This depends on what caused your heartbreak, how you deal with loss, and how quickly you tend to bounce back from things. Getting over a break-up can take a couple of days to many weeks — and sometimes even months.
7.) Keep yourself busy - This can be difficult when you’re coping with sadness and grief, but it really helps. Just make sure you busy yourself with positive activities like doing projects around the house, going on a trip, exercising, friend-time and focusing on studies or work. Don’t get self destructive and at all costs avoid excesses of any kind.
8.) Watch a movie -To distract yourself, choose a comedy that has cheered you up before. Or watch one that’s guaranteed to make you sob — you might be surprised how good that makes you feel.
9.) Take a holiday/vacation or weekend off -Visit an old friend or go back home to your roots. A change of environment does wonders for the spirit. It recharges your batteries. It also gives you some time to think and find closure in a different setting.
10.) Surround yourself with friends -Interacting with others will help you in resuming a normal life balance. It may open up opportunities for new friendships too. Consider dating other people, but be wary of rebound relationships.
11.) Remind yourself of your good qualities -Often people with broken hearts blame themselves for what happened. Getting your self-esteem back on track is the key to your recovery.
12.) Focus on yourself -You’re going through a tough time, so do the things that make you feel good again. Get a new hairstyle, have a spa day, dance, or go shopping. Get lots of sleep, eat healthy foods, and exercise regularly to minimise stress and depression.
13.) Improve yourself -This is an opportunity to make a journey into self-discovery. Discover what you want from life and go after it.
14.) Get rid of the memories -Do your mourning and then put everything that reminds you of your ex in a box and seal it. Return it to them, throw it away, donate it to charity or ask a friend to hold on to it indefinitely. Get rid of anything that keeps you in the past, if it hurts.
15.) Learn from the break-up -Take the positives from it, and even more importantly, learn from the negatives. There’s nothing worse than dragging your negative habits along with you to future relationships, because you’ll just end up with the same result until you learn from your mistakes.
16.) Get out -Force yourself to go out even if you are feeling depressed. Go for a cup of coffee or a long walk.
17.) Move on -People who are dealing with a break up tend to play over past events in their head ad nauseum. This behaviour is normal in the early days of a break up but it can quickly become a dangerous and defeatist coping strategy. Remember that the end is just the beginning. Visualise your future, block out the past. Pick up the pieces and go after the kind of life and relationship you deserve.
18.) Don’t punish your next partner -Judge future relationships on their own merits. Don’t let paranoia from the past enter the present. If you live in the past too much, you aren’t ready to be in another relationship yet. Learn to trust again. Don’t let a bad experience keep you from living your life to the fullest.
19.) Consider getting professional help -Sometimes the sadness is so deep — or lasts so long — that one may need extra support. For a person who isn’t starting to feel better after a few weeks or who continues to feel depressed, talking to a psychologist or counsellor or psychiatrist can be very helpful.
20.) Take charge -Find the courage to pull yourself out of this rut. Take charge of yourself and you will find that there actually is life after ‘What’s-His-Name’ or ‘What’s-Her-Name’! You just need to make the decision so you can move on.
Take tiny steps each day and you will be amazed that you are starting to feel better. Lean on your friends and family, and remember, time will heal all wounds.
